PTO Fundraising Trio Moving On

From Debbie Wygent and LancasterOnline:

You might call Jodi Davis, Janice Heagy and Renee Cochhi the Octorara Area School District‘s $175,000 women.

But don’t call them when school ends in June, because these PTO officers are retiring.

During the school board’s April 16 meeting elementary principals Lisa McNamara and Christian Haller publicly thanked the three outgoing PTO volunteers, who have, for the past five years, led about 25 volunteers and PTO efforts in raising $35,000 a year for elementary school programs.

“They have done unbelievable work with our fundraising efforts,” McNamara said, noting that the women will be hard to replace.

Cochhi, Davis and Heagy, who are retiring as their children move to middle school, have been part of a five-person board. The PTO has paid for assemblies at three school buildings, given a gift book to every elementary student at Christmas, sponsored field day and Earth Day celebrations, paid for playground supplies and equipment, and sponsored and run many special school/community events.
