Find it Friday this week is hard!
Ok, you recognize Jack Mariano. Jack is a Parkesburg native who has lived his entire life in the area . So everyone knows who the guy in the picture is.
But where is the horseshoe Jack is pointing at? Kate Thomas who lives in the Fountain Inn on Main Street with her husband Ken and 8 year old daughter told me about the horseshoe about a month ago.
Where in Parkesburg is the horseshoe and why is it embedded in the sidewalk?
Think you know. Take a guess. A correct guess gets you entered into a drawing for a free pizza in the form of a $10 gift certificate to Rocco & Anna’s on Main Street, Find It Friday’s sponsor.
The week’s winner and hopefully an explanation of the embedded horseshoe will be posted Sunday morning.
Guess away. Submit as many guesses as you want and check back through the next day or two for a clue.

326 Main Street- next to the mailbox
Its on the south side of Main Street, next to the mail box, west of Rocco’s and across the street from Righteous Clothing, just west of State street. I placed mail in the box yesterday and I saw it there and thought it would be great for “Find it Friday.”
The horseshoe is in front of the house at 326 Main St. (Formerly Mrs Brown and Mrs. Buchanan’s house). I have no idea who put it there or why.
On the corner of Route 10 across from Zeke’s car wash (Old Main St.?)
I FOUND THE HORSE SHOE! IT’S IN THE SIDEWALK IN FRONT OF 326 WEST MAIN ST.,NEXT TO THE MAILBOX.( THE “NO PARKING”) YELLOW STRIPES AND THE MAILBOX WERE THE CLUES. HAVE NO IDEA WHY OR WHEN IT WAS PUT THERE.
There used to be some on Strasburg Ave. near where the old black smith shop used to be.
We went on a scavenger hunt today me and my two daughters and found the horseshoe by the corner of State and Main Street (Main 326). We have one guess each:
Charlotte – I did not see a business right there, but we think maybe it was for good luck for business or a new home?
Abigail (12) – There may have been more in the older sidewalk leading to a horse related business or the fountain.
Cassandra (6) – maybe their horse died and they put it there to remember it when they made the sidewalk.
Thanks, it was a fun activity!
