This update on a $375,000 grant to restore Little Buck Run from this morning’s Daily Local News.
Little Buck Run is the stream that flows through Parkesburg. The headwaters of Little Buck Run are located in Sadsbury and West Sadsbury Townships just north of the Borough.
The state Department of Environmental Protection awarded more than $375,000 to the Brandywine Valley Association to restore Little Buck Run of the Brandywine Watershed.
The $375,100 competitive grant is one of only 57 Growing Greener grants awarded in the state and the only one awarded to an organization in Chester County.
“We are grateful to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for their support of BVA’s Red Streams Blue program,” said Bob Struble, the association’s watershed conservation director. “This important project will make a measurable improvement in Little Buck Run.”
The grant will support the Red Streams Blue program, an effort by the association to ensure all streams in the 330-square-mile Brandywine Watershed meet water quality standards mandated by the commonwealth. The grant for Little Buck Run will affect the Parkesburg region of Chester County.
